Scientist Cereal Boxes

Last week as I was grocery shopping, I found myself in the cereal aisle.  I noticed that Wheaties puts a lot of famous athletes on the front of their cereal boxes.  I began to wonder why Wheaties has never put famous scientists on the front of their boxes.  Instead of being upset about this oversight, I thought that having you, my talented students, create cereal boxes with famous scientists on them would be a much better solution.

You may make the scientist cereal box by covering any regular cereal box.  You can use construction paper, or any other type of paper that will work, to cover the box.  Consider taking a trip to the cereal aisle to get ideas of how cereal companies design the front of their boxes to make them more attractive to consumers.  Creativity is key!

 Front of Box must include:

-       Name of scientist

-       Picture of scientist

-       Your name

 Back of Box must include:

-       1 page typed description of the scientist’s life and personal background

Side One of Box must include:

-       The main contribution of this scientist to chemistry

Side Two of Box must include:

-       Interesting facts about the scientist

Here is a list of scientists to consider for your cereal box.  Please feel free to use someone NOT on this list.
